Gloucester Road - For People, not banks

Tuesday 21st February, 19:00 – 20:00

Amitabha Buddhist Centre, Old Vicarage, Gloucester Rd, Bristol BS7 8NX

Where does money come from and why does it not reach those that really need it? Laurie and Ruby from the Bristol Pound will be discussing issues surrounding the creation of wealth, the problem of inequality and why choosing to buy from small businesses with a local currency can help change the system for the better.

The session will include a short quiz about money creation alongside an interactive presentation about the current financial system. We will explore how using the Bristol Pound to grow a network of local businesses is a more ethical and sustainable alternative for the city.

There will be a chance for people to open a Bristol Pound account (please bring: 1) photo ID and 2) proof of address) or change some sterling for the beautiful Bristol paper notes, designed by local artists.

All are welcome!
