About the role

A Community Currency Champion is an advocate for the Bristol Pound – someone who loves using Bristol Pounds and is proud to promote the currency to other people in their area and networks.

The role can be tailored to suit your lifestyle and your skills. Here are some ideas we have for what community champions could do to advocate the currency:

·         Developing creative promotions for local businesses that take £Bs and to get it noticed in your area. This may include social media, events organizing, or just a friendly chat with the staff when you spend your Bristol Pounds!

·         Using ‘I’d rather have paid in Bristol Pound cards’ in businesses that are not currently members.

·         Advocate the currency at Networking events

·         Developing a seasonal walking tour of local businesses in your area for the general public

·         Hosting meet ups in your community to support local £B users

·         Getting creative with making promotional materials

Hours and time commitment

Part-time, flexible voluntary role – we want you to decide when and where you can fit being a Community Currency Champion into your current lifestyle. You will need to be available about once a month for a meet up. We would suggest a minimum of 2 hours a week spent on this role.
