There are two current vacancies:
Senior Delivery Consultant
Salary: £45,000 pro rata
Reports to: Programme Manager
Days: 5 days a week (part-time considered)
Location: Bristol Pound office, Corn Exchange, Bristol City Centre
Bristol Pound CIC needs a Senior Delivery Consultant to review and develop an innovative new financial product.
Bristol Pound operates a high profile local currency scheme in Bristol and collaborates with a range of partners in the UK and overseas to develop and deliver other currency schemes and related economic interventions. We have a highly motivated staff team running the scheme in Bristol supported by a Board of both paid executive and voluntary directors.
We have developed a credit/loans system aimed at providing finance to SMEs in the Bristol area. The intention is to offer low or zero per cent credit to those businesses. The product has been tested successfully in a full trial. However, before we present our product to the market widely we want to feel sure we have got it right. Therefore, we are seeking someone with the right experience in the finance sector, to help us review, potentially adapt the product and to help us put in place the necessary operational procedures and capacity.
About the role
- Carry out full review of current proposed scheme for mutual credit circle as piloted
- Identify areas for change and suggest necessary amendments
- Put in place action plan through to full launch and beyond
- Help to draft business plan incorporating amendments and other necessary areas
- Consider current risk procedures in place and identify other areas that should be covered to achieve a balanced and robustly performing loan book
- Draft new procedures as necessary
- Experience of banking and/or financial transaction systems and procedures
- Strategic planner, able to plan a business development effectively
- Financial product development experience
- Project management skills
- Demonstrable ability to plan and execute a product development cycle from inception to launch and beyond
- Understanding of necessary procedures for running a loan book, debt factoring or mutual credit clearing services
- Experience in interpreting publicly available company information such as Experian and Dunn and Bradstreet
- Experience in working in financial institution and in not-for-profit/charity sector
- Previous experience of interacting with FCA and other regulators
Remuneration and contract term
Initial period of 3 months full time (part time would be considered); further period after this to be agreed.

Research Director (Voluntary)
Bristol Pound CIC is looking for an additional member of the Board of Directors to help with research related work alongside the broader responsibility for the strategic development and the good governance of the organisation. If you think you might have the time, the skills and the passion to support Bristol Pound scheme in this way, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a voluntary position, although any reasonable expenses are paid.
You will need to be committed to the aims and ethos of the organisation, bring skills and experience that add to the overall expertise of the board, and have the capacity to contribute 1-2 days per month to the role. When: Post available immediately running for 12 months minimum.

Bristol Pound CIC operates a high profile local currency scheme in Bristol and supports a network of similar initiatives in the UK and overseas. We have a highly motivated staff team running the scheme in Bristol supported by a Board of both paid executive and voluntary directors. It is vital that the Board has the necessary breadth of skills to support the onward development and delivery of the CICs pioneering work.
We are now looking for a Research Director who can help us continue to develop the core Bristol Pound proposition, undertake research into similar local currency schemes, as well as developing a research strategy to assess the impact and outcomes of the scheme. This person will have research and business modelling skills ideally in one or more of the following fields: local economics, social impact, social capital, community cohesion, well-being, values.
The Research Director will also help us establish good relationships with potential research partners and able to advise on research related funding applications and review any reports that result from the research activities.
We anticipate a minimum commitment of 12 hours per month will be required to help develop the research strategy. The successful applicant will need to attend regular bi-monthly board meetings in central Bristol in addition to any hours spent fulfilling the specific role.
