Bristol Pound CIC is at an exciting and crucial stage in its development.
Launched in 2012, £B grew quickly to become the largest local currency scheme in the UK. Seven years on our mission is as needed as ever – to create a local economy that is greener, fairer and stronger, and to help other localities around the world to do the same.
We are in the process of transitioning from being a grant-funded project to becoming a self-sustaining social enterprise. We are also committed to applying the learning from our work so far to create a more effective and scalable product. And we have big visions for the future, such as creating a payment platform for the entire region, developing an audit tool for small businesses aligned to the global SDGs and creating new projects to promote a circular economy.

If you are looking to give time and energy to help create a better economy and have expertise in any of those areas, please contact Ben Heald.
The board is also looking for passionate £B advocates to put themselves forwards for the individual and business member representative roles. These roles are vital to enabling members to influence future strategy and development. Find out more and apply here.
