Using £Bs For Ecommerce
Do you want to be able to take Bristol Pounds (£Bs) in your online shop? Add buy now or donate now buttons to your blog? Adapt your point of sales device to process £B payments? Add our trader directory to your smart phone app?
If so, then the good news is yes this is all possible!
As well as our electronic payment service, TXT2PAY, we also have a comprehensive set of programming tools available for you to directly integrate £B payment and directory services into your business applications.
You can read all about them here: http://api.bristolpound.org/ and see the examples below.
If you have an integration you want us to shout about, or want to get in touch to discuss how best to integrate £Bs into your business then contact Graham Woodruff at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Examples of integrations
Real Economy - Online Payments
Our sister project Real Economy has a website for buying local food, this is fully integrated with Bristol Pounds allowing members to pay with £Bs directly without leaving the website. This was achieved with only a few lines of code and we can supply these on request.
Watershed - POS Device
Cross-artform venue, the Watershed in Bristol developed point of sale devices that sit next to each of their tills and directly access their £B online account, retrieve payment directly and display the payments that customers make via TXT2PAY. This means there is no need for staff to go looking for the phone to check the texts - which on a busy night will go a long way to helping things run smoothly!

Pedro Lamas has created a Windows Phone app that gives users the ability to search businesses and to make TXT2PAY payments quickly and easily, you can download it here: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/bristol-pound/35de9c7d-4337-4228-8c76-bec79525bddd
The Bristol Shop is a one stop shop for people who want to buy products that are designed or made in the city, or just have that special Bristol flavour. They use Shopify to create their online shopping experience and have integrated £B TXT2PAY into the shop so customers can checkout and pay using their mobile phone.
