6:45 | All Welcome | Local Currencies: the Rebellious Act
As the UK economy transforms into a tool to support large multi-national corporations and distant shareholders, the growth of alternative economics becomes ever more important. The Bristol Pound is widely seen as one of the most successful local currencies in the UK, but it’s not alone in its mission. Local currencies are being established in towns and cities across the UK, led by their communities, who share a common aim: to redefine the way we live and work with money.
The formal Annual Meeting will finish at 6:45pm, when we invite all to join us for a workshop and discussion. In this meeting we hope to inform, discuss and take action on how we can give money back to the people of Bristol. As we relaunch our regular members meeting, members will be invited to help shape the group and the contribution they make to the Bristol Pound community.
Please Note: The formal annual meeting from 6 – 6:45 is for members of the Bristol Pound only, but everyone is welcome to join us for drinks, nibbles and action at the second part of the meeting from 6:45 onwards.
