Since we had the UK’s First Conference of Independent Currencies last November there have been many exciting developments around the UK, with many more towns and cities making their first tentative steps towards launching their own currencies.
On June 15th 2015 we invited representatives from many independent currency schemes to visit Exeter for a meet up. Exeter Pound is due for launch on 1st September to coincide with the Rugby World Cup and it was a great opportunity to meet up with a team going through the pain of pre-launch.
Schemes that attended included Totnes, Brixton, Lewes, Worcester, Cardiff, Liverpool, Birmingham, Plymouth, Tewkesbury, Kingston, Brighton and Southampton.
Many thanks to Bristol for organising and Exeter for hosting.
