We loved working with Bristol Green Capital Partnership to host last night’s Green Mingle at The Kitchen.
The Green Mingle is a monthly networking event ran by Bristol Green Capital Partnership which offers individuals and organisations the opportunity to meet in an informal setting, make connections, share ideas and learn about innovative projects and initiatives focused on sustainability in Bristol.
The Bristol Pound team loved attending, we met so many people interested in our local currency and had the chance to run a £B cashpoint at the event. We were joined by Bristol Pound members Mike from Nutcessity (locally produced natural nut butters packed with flavour) and Gemma from Eat Dark Matters (delicious vegan brownies made from over 70% cocoa solids) who offered some amazing samples and goodies to take away.
After some good mingling (and delicious chips!) we heard from our MD Diana who explained what we are doing to help improve sustainability in Bristol. We aim to reduce transport-related carbon emissions by creating shorter supply chains through a strong business network in the city; meaning for example a £B café member may choose to buy their produce from a local £B wholesale member after building connections through our network.
We then had the opportunity to hear from the nominees for the elected director position on the Bristol Green Capital Partnership’s board. It was amazing to hear all their ideas on how we can work together to help Bristol become an even greener city and get people excited about sustainability.
The Green Mingle is held every month and it’s a lovely welcoming event that we would recommend attending if you haven’t had the chance to already. Maybe we’ll see you at the next one on Thursday 2nd May?
